Concrete Lifting & Leveling Solutions in the San Diego Area

Concrete is not a light material so when anything from changes in a soil's moisture level to poor compaction weaken the soil under your concrete slab, it will sink. And when your concrete slab sinks, especially if it sinks unevenly, it will strain the concrete possibly past its breaking point, causing unsightly and potentially dangerous cracks and gaps in the seams. That is where slab leveling comes in.

Using an expanding polyurethane foam, we can level your concrete slab. The foam raises the portions that have sunk while simultaneously compacting the soil underneath, providing a permanent solution. The best part: it doesn't involve tearing up your current slab.

Foundations on the Level is your number one slab leveling contractor in San Diego and the surrounding areas. We have the knowledge, equipment, and experience to raise and level your uneven or cracked concrete slab. Contact us today to schedule an appointment for a free estimate.

Where can polyurethane concrete leveling be used?

Concrete slabs are all around us. We walk on them, drive on them, and play on them. Our homes and garages are built on them. And if there is a concrete slab that is sinking, chances are we can level it with polyurethane foam.

Concrete slabs that we can level include:

  • Driveways
  • Home Foundation Slabs
  • Garage Slabs
  • Steps
  • Pool Decks
  • Roads
  • Parking Lots
  • Patios
  • Sidewalks

How Concrete Leveling with Foam Works

If we determine, after inspecting your property for free, that polymer foam is the best solution, the process will be completed quickly, with little disruption to your property.

We drill small holes into the concrete and inject the foam through them. The foam spreads out, filling any voids below the slab and compressing any loose soil supporting the concrete.

The foam is impervious to any water or chemicals found in the soil, so it won't break down over time. This makes it a permanent solution. The slab is then lifted to within a fraction of inch of the desired height.

Once the slab is at the desired height, the equipment is removed and the holes are filled. You also won't have to wait. The foam takes around 15 minutes to cure, so once everything is cleaned up, you can use the concrete surface like normal.

Benefits of Slab Leveling in the San Diego Area

When your slab starts to sink, you have two options: Fix the underlying problem or wait until the entire slab needs to be replaced.

In this case, the permanent solution is also the less invasive one.

First, the polyurethane injection process is minimally invasive. We fill the small holes in the slab, and the area around the slab remains undisturbed. You can not say the same thing for replacing the slab, with the necessity to break up and remove the old concrete.

Second, the process is short. Most slabs can be leveled quickly, with even the larger ones rarely taking more than a day. And as mentioned earlier, they can be used almost immediately, without waiting for an entire slab of new concrete to cure.

The reduced time and materials also make it the more affordable option, especially when you look long term.

That is because if you simply lay another concrete slab over the same unsupported soil, there is a good chance you will be dealing with more problems as the new slab sinks as well. With polyurethane foam, the compaction strengthens the soil, providing a solution to the underlying issue rather than fixing the surface cracks with a new slab.
